Quillsmith was born from a simple frustration: existing writing tools weren't designed for the way creative writers actually work.
Every novelist knows the struggle: keeping track of characters, maintaining consistency across hundreds of pages, organizing complex timelines, and fighting through writer's block. Generic word processors weren't built for this. Specialized writing software was either too rigid or too complicated.
We started building Quillsmith as a passion project, drawing on our own experiences as fiction writers. The goal was simple: create the tool we wished existed. One that understood the creative writing process, not just word processing.
Today, Quillsmith is a forward-looking AI-assisted writing platform built around a story-aware assistant. Context is automatically custom-built for each request—your characters, locations, lore, and plot arcs are categorized, linked, and surfaced so the AI understands your story without losing crucial details. The result is intelligent assistance that stays true to your world, not generic suggestions that ignore everything you've built.
